Brrrr!!!

Boy, was it cold outside today! You might be asking yourself, "What are you talking about Mrs. Kohlhepp? We live in South Florida and it is usually no less than 85 degrees this time of year." Well, our class went on  a bone-chilling, teeth chattering, knee shivering field trip to Antarctica. The students clothed themselves in winter wear and buckled their seat-belts for an icy expedition to a climate colder than their familiar surroundings in muggy, warm  South Florida. The ride there was pretty smooth, ( you have to ask them about the flight attendant). Below you will see our class before and after the "plane ride" and in our laboratory recording data in our journals.

Some of us were so happy when we landed. The anticipation was overwhelming!

These junior explorers ( Quinn and Danielle) were very excited to record their discoveries.

It was freeeeezing!! We were so glad to be back in sunny, South Florida.

You can see enjoy the same creatures and views that we shared today, here.

God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.

Working Wonders

Today was a typical Friday in second grade. Ok. . . maybe not "typical" but very busy! Chapel was full of great worship music, DIEGO the Creation Studies Institute mascot and a wonderful story about how we need to trust God's plans and not our own. With Him...ALL things are possible!

Manuel was given the opportunity to play a game.

It's Diego!

I couldn't resist showing you how hard our class was working on their Penguin Pals.

We are going on an expedition to Antarctica on Monday! We will be exploring new places and documenting our discoveries. Don't forget to bring your gloves, mittens, scarves, and cozy hats to school in your backpack. I cannot wait to begin our trip.

Let the organizing begin...

As you can see, I enjoy "up-cycling, recycling, or reusing" any kind of container for
organizing my teacher supplies. If you should come across a nifty container that you are about to throw away, think to yourself. . .  "What would Mrs. Kohlhepp do with this?"  This has been another great week with my class. We are learning many new things. Come back tomorrow for a peek into our latest findings.

Seeds

Well, we have had our first "week" of school. It has been a blast!

Today, we talked about life cycles and seeds. We hope to see sprouts soon, but more importantly we want to plant God's Word in the hearts of others and watch it groW...grOW...gROW...GROW!

. . . The seed is the Word of God.  Luke 8:11
